Our Climate Responsibility

Jessica Cutten L4 CIM

As part of our commitment to the environment, we wanted to make sure we were doing our part locally and globally when we moved to our office in Kings Langley. Climate change is such an important topic and as a firm we have started to make changes while we still have time to limit the worst impact. SAS began by making monthly payments to Ecologi in 2020, which supports projects based around the world, including Argentina, Peru, and Mozambique.

We are now over 3 years into our climate impact journey with Ecologi and we have planted in excess of 5,000 trees & 25 sparkly trees!(awarded to members who refer others to use Ecologi). Since 2020 we have offset 100 tonnes of CO2 which is the equivalent of driving nearly 250,000 miles.

Want to check out our impact? you can check out our company page here.

Not only do we support Ecologi, but we also do our bit closer to home, making the office a green space! SAS make sure we recycle any cardboard/paper or plastics that come into the office, The food waste in our offices is composted and used in our beautiful office gardens or the wall of plants we have covering our office.

Though they might seem like small steps, it is important to know that we are contributing to the planet’s well-being.

It’s not only individuals who can make a difference in fighting climate change, Companies have a large role to play in reducing carbon emissions and it’ time to make a change.

Check out these easy tips for companies to reduce carbon footprint:

  1. Go digital – switch to paperless communication and storage. At SAS we switched to paperless alongside our partners Xero and legislations such as Making Tax Digital supporting HMRC’s plans to digitalise the tax system!
  2. Invest in smart technology like LED lighting to reduce energy usage.
  3. Reuse, reduce, & recycle materials wisely.
  4. Reduce commuter impacts with carpooling, alternative transportation to your office or allowance of working from home.
  5. Invest in renewable energy sources
