Social responsibility

Making a positive contribution to society

Assuming our responsibilities

It is important to everyone at SAS that we work for a socially responsible company and are able to make a positive contribution to society.

As a profitable organisation, we believe it is necessary to donate financially and have carefully selected a few charities are doing great things, both in the UK and overseas.

Their focus

Our collective home is in the process of being turned totally upside down which is leading to strife for almost all life on Earth.

What they do

It’s now common knowledge that one of the best tools to tackle the climate crisis and keep our temperatures from rising above 1.5C is to plant trees. They are also crucial to preventing ecological collapse.

At Ecologi we invest your money into projects that remove more greenhouse gasses than your own carbon footprint puts in.

Each month we support a range of carbon reduction projects that are certified at the very highest level by Gold Standard and equivalent.

Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling.

What they do

When you’re experiencing a mental health problem, supportive and reliable information can change your life. That’s what Mind do, by empowering people to understand their condition and the choices available to them.

Mind provides help and support directly to those who need it most. Their network of around 135 local Minds offer specialised support and care based on the needs of the communities they support.

Their focus

Microtia is a rare condition resulting in under developed ears and associated hearing loss. The condition can vary in severity and affects 1 in 6,000 babies. Affecting more boys than girls, Microtia is most common to occur in one ear, however unfortunately 1 in 10 children suffer with the condition in both ears.

What they do

Established in 2013, Microtia UK holds regular family information events, and have been able to support medical and psychological research through the provision of grants. The charity is a great support for new parents, and has gone on to produce a nationally recognised ‘New Parents Guide’.
