This is an exciting time to join our young and dynamic practice that has been nominated four years in a row in the category of Fast-Track Firm of the Year at the Accounting Excellence awards. As we mature as a business we are now keen to recruit a junior accountant, to specifically support on a portfolio of construction clients. This has become a key industry we support and as such we are looking for someone who can bring a commercial mindset when providing services to these clients.
There’s no sign of our growth slowing down, so we are on the lookout for a highly motivated, qualified/part-qualified accountant that shares our entrepreneurial mindset.

The Role
Joining as a Junior Accountant, you will be providing bookkeeping and business support services to a portfolio of clients, operating across various industries. You will be working under the guidance of the Accountant and Client Manager to assist with the provision of the following services:
- A focus on a construction client base with an opportunity to bring past experience to these specific clients
- Accurate recording of all financial transactions through ledger postings, nominal journals, bank reconciliations etc
- Processing of bank payments
- Preparation and submission of VAT, CIS and Self-Assessment returns to HMRC
- Submission of annual Confirmation Statements to Companies House
- Helping with the production of monthly management accounts and other ad hoc financial reporting
- Maintaining cash flow forecasts
- A range of other ad hoc duties to help support the team and our clients
The Successful Applicant
We are looking for a highly ambitious candidate, someone who thinks outside the box and is willing to go above and beyond the expectations of clients, to help develop profitable long-lasting relationships.
- At least 2 years practice or industry experience
- Exposure working specifically with construction businesses is advantageous
- Always adopts a positive mindset
- Takes a commercial approach, keeping client’s best interests at the forefront
- Enthusiastic, with a can-do attitude
- Possesses excellent attention to detail
- Capable of building strong relationships internally and externally
- Able to remain calm under pressure
- Wanting to study towards the ACA/ACCA qualification
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance workloads to manage the needs of various clients
- Experience working within general practice is advantageous
- Experience with Xero accounting software is advantageous
